This is what I spent the winter doing. I once again worked for Utah State Parks and Recreation grooming 180 miles of snowmobile trails that cross and included grooming over some ATV trails.

I could groom during the day as long as the temps were below freezing - the snow has to be frozen to groom.

Here's our snocat - we towed it with a 1-ton chevy with a 8.1L vortec - the cat and trailer weigh over 16,000 pounds - it made the little gas motor sweat.

PST 44 - Paiute Side Trail

It was an awesome job - loved every minute of it.
I groomed 3 nights/week - each route took about 12-14 hours to groom 60 miles of trail.

Now I drive a truck that hauls the US Mail and I'm back to doing this when I can.

Wow! Specta's back and a new video too! Good thing. I thought I was going to have to check in to the Betty Ford clinic for Specta video withdrawal...

If you would have checked in at the Betty Ford Clinic maybe we could have shared a room.

A few pics from Wednesdays ride.

The Kimberley Mine stopped production in 1938 - it is/was the 2nd largest gold producer in Utah.

Looks like a welcome mat to me - the sign was meant to be and is misleading - it's a public road that has private property on both sides - anyone can take this road.

Whenever I come to a fork in the road - I take it.

Great pics, Specta. That trail you describe as rough that the wimps didn't want to go on is about average to good here. 6 weeks and a couple days!!!! Can't wait.
