And yes, you can slap down your credit card or sign the check and buy the dyno that will work.
Futhermore, its not that the thing accelerates so fast.. its because the engine self destructs after 4.5 seconds of running at full torque. That means, you better get it right within the 4.5 seconds.

Your stating yourself, that a <u>dyno</u> would have to be <u>designed</u> to deal with a nitro-methane motor. That would insinuate that there currently are no dyno's that can. Am I misinterpreting that insinuation? Do they need to design one just for the heck of it, despite the existance of one capable of doing the job?

The fact remains, no current dyno can measure the power of a Top Fuel motor, Period.
The unit you linked to, although it is rated for the required capacity, is designed for diesel engines and shaft turbines, just as I suspected. Due to entirely different performance criteria, it would be useless on a nitromethane motor, and I suspect that you know that but are still unwilling to admitt it.
Now why would I appologize when I haven't been proven wrong? You on the other hand are admitting to being wrong in stating that the dyno manufacturers need to design a dyno that can perform the job.

Before we get lost on the meanings of a single word, and not the overall point.....Answer me a question. Dynos measure Torque, correct? As far as I understand the only true way to measure torque would be to apply resistance to that which is being measured. So in essance you are attempting to "hold back" the product. So as I read it, "hold back" and "measure" "could" have the same meaning in this case.
