OK, this doesn't have anything to do with quads. It's a little trivia.
You have a NHRA top fuel drag car sitting at the starting line. Along comes a NASCAR running and maintaining 200 mph.
When the NASCAR crosses the starting line of the 1/4 mile track, it trips the starting light for the top fuel car.
At what point in the 1/4 mile track does the top fuel car catch and pass the NASCAR and how fast is it going when it does. The NHRA top fuel speed record is 336.15 mph and a ET record of 4.437 seconds.
I edited this post to add this: would any of the variables come into play on this IE: the top fuel car will be doing 268 mph in the 1/8.
I know its posted below, but I wanted everyone to get a clear picture of it.
It may be a wierd question but I know a few of you guys will have fun figuring it out. =]
Thanks for any answers. =]

Tha NASCAR would make it in 4.5 seconds even, so the Top Fuel car would pass it at the very end of the strip, going approx. 335.34 mph.

"The" NASCAR and "a" NASCAR do not exist therefore this race could not really take place. NASCAR is a multi billion dollar corporation. Now the stock cars that they have under their thumb is a different story. A stock car going 200mph is quite a head start from a dragster at a stand still. No math genius here so I am interested in the outcome myself.
Just thought that I'd zap the fun out of this thread. kidding

Moto26 nailed it. The "stock car" (good point there Ace) would cross at exactly 4.5, and the dragster would pass him right before the finish line. Here's the math behind the 4.5... 200mph divided by 60 gives you miles per minute.... divide that by 60 to get miles per second. Take that answer (.05 repeating) and divide .25(of a mile) by it, and you get the stock car crossing the line at 4.5 sec. If the dragster is running the record time he should pass at the 1319ft mark.... 1 foot before the finish.
