I think that you should negotiate with him, ask for $1300. My neighbor has a '04 and '06 Banshee and he said that in 3rd gear it will go well above 80mph. What are you going to be using it for??? racing, recreational riding, or working?

well I don't know what all he's done to it but he knows that because he was riding in VA with his buddy and his buddy has a Yamaha Storm with the electric speedometer and in third Gear he flew past his buddy and the speedometer on his buddy's said that he was going 70mph. So that means that he can go over 80 mph in 3rd.

LOL either that or your buddies speedo is way off or set in km/h mode.... I have quite a bit done to mine and it wont do 80 in 3rd gear.... Anyway back to the topic at hand.... I would avoid the 87 thru 90 if you plan on doing any real jumping as they have the J arms instead of A arms which tend to bend easier. Top speed for a piped banshee is prolly between 75 and 80

The only way a banshee or any quad for that matter will do 80 in 3rd gear is if there is a street bike motor in there. Your friend has been feeding you some Bs. If you do decide on getting it invest in an a-arm conversion kit.

My Yamaha Grizzly 600 did the same and I checked the carb to see if the float was sticking and it was so my siggestion is to just tap on the carb for about 10-15 seconds with a wrench or something and try to start and ride it and then get back to me.

I would not suggest buying a Banshee for top speed. They are great bikes and from my experience are easy to work on even though they have 2 cylinders. What type of terrain are you going to be riding. Also, everyone is right, you might want to avoid 87-90 due to the J-arms instead of the A-arms.
