Polaris or Kawasaki

Suzuki 750axi is good power-wise. Probably pretty close to the Brute and the Sportsman. You can get the Suzuki with about the same equipment for less than a comparable, same year, Polaris or Brute Force. The Polaris will still have a more comfortable ride and more on board storage. If you can get a good deal on an X2 it might be worth a look as RickCJ7 said. Not only does it have the dump box, but the box has a seat that flips up so you can have a legal passenger with you. Just a thought. Love mine.

Here's how I see them
Honda-dependable but outdated - like a Civic
Yam/Kaw/Suz- more modern than Honda - Geo Tracker or Suzuki Sidekick
Artic Cat - more for slow mud running or rock crawling, high with lots of ground clearance-
Jeep Wrangler
Can Am- fastest cc for cc, sporty handling - Land Rover/BMW/MB
Polaris - Sportsman - good ride and lots of room- Excursion
X2- 3/4 ton pick up
XP- fast and good handling, a cross between the Excursion/Land Rover/Wrangler
Which do you prefer?
I have a Polaris X2, I use it to plow snow, tow cars around the shop and haul tools. Not a better atv for that purpose, just wish it had power steering! If I wanted to race around and show off the Can Am Renegade would be the 1. For all around trailriding the Polaris XP.

Consider true cost of ownership--fuel, maintenance, ease of maintenance, and the biggees: reliability & depreciation.
Overall, I would choose the Kawasaki, based just on the reliability & depreciation factors. I have a Polaris, and won't make that mistake again. Your results may vary.

Nobody is going to be able to replicate the riding experience of any of the machines on a forum, and that's what you should be using to ultimately make your decision. If you go ride a brute and fall in love, by all means buy it, and the same goes for the sportsman. You can look in any forum and find somebody who has had a bad experience with every brand of atv, and god only knows what they put them through before something broke. I personally love my sportsman 800, but i'm not blind to the fact that other companies make good products too. Many people buy a brand and instantly think anything else is garbage and will try to sell you on something they bought just to make themselves feel better somehow... Go ride the ones you're interested in, and probably even a few you haven't put much thought into, such as the kq750. Take everything you read on a forum with a grain of salt, believe none of what you read, and half of what you see.... Good luck on whatever it is that you choose!

Well guys, I went off path and bought the King Quad 750. I thought it was a mix of the polaris and kawasaki. It was smoother riding than the Kaw and just plain looked better than the polaris. I was really leaning towards the polaris but the salesperson just didn't seemed to interested in selling the machine. I have to install the winch and put the blade together but I am pumped. My rubicon was nice overall but this is gonna be fun to ride and will have everything I need.
Thanks for the advice.
Merry Christmas

Congrats on the new machine, Ive heard a lot of good things about those wheelers and I potentially would have bought one had there been any dealers within reasonable driving distance. I hope you enjoy it, and don't be afraid to post a message giving the ups and downs of the machine once you get some miles on it.
Once again, congrats and merry Christmas!

OK, basically it goes like this in my opinion.
KEEP IN MIND THIS IS BASED OFF CAR KNOWLEDGE, but the same should hold true with bikes, except maybe for the italian thing.
The quality of the machines & there parts boils down for the most part to what country they are made in, and it goes like this.............
Italian > German > Japenese > Sweden/Finland etc > Britian etc > USA > Korea > China
Allthough I plan on keeping my sportsman 400 (The rest of the bikes in my sig are for sale) I also plan on continually offering it for trade on craigslist for a Japenese ute
