Default Winch cable replacement

I'm tired of breaking steel cables and ropes. Thinking of replacing with 3" strap, only use for plowing so would only wind on 10' Has anyone else tried this?

Ever think of switching to a synthetic? They don't kink, lightweight and still flexable in the cold. You can pick up shorter lines on E-bay just for plowing.

Yes,broke that twice. Rope lasts longer then steel and easier to retie on. However when it breaks down inside of spool it's very difficult to get to on my Razor.

My strap is doing great so far, but I just started using this method this season.

Default cable saver

I tried that last year worked good for most of the season then my son buried the hook inside the rubber. Had to cut it off.
I'm going to install a 8' strap this weekend will post back on how it works.
thanks for the replies.
