Ok, quick background. Move to Maine, wanted ATV and plow. Picked up Polaris Magnum 4x4 with broken CV. Got new axle in, and new boot on other side. Have all new oil's to put in the machine. It had been sitting for over 2 years after last owner broke the CV.
Got it to run, runs very rough at idle until warmed up then goes great, still getting bad gas out of it.
Ok, found Moose Plow with manual lift, got it on, working, adjusted, and ready for snow (none to be found yet). Oh yea, the metal on the manual lift system just about as strong as a soda can, cheap cheap stuff.

Ok, winch mount came in and on no problem.

Winch came in, from Ebay just 44 bucks for a 3000 pound winch that was "complete". Got it out of the box and they sent a 3500 pound winch, but here are a few problems.
First the roller is smaller than my mount plate by 1/2 inch so I can not bolt it on......So right now no roller
Second, this winch uses a dash mounted switch and there is NO wiring from the switch to the heavy solenoid. There are two sets of heavy wire. One for the batter and the other for the winch but one of them ENDS in BARE wire!!!! What the heck is THAT?

I contacted them, they offered to exchange it for the correct winch, then they wrote back and said they sold out of the "correct" winch and will give a refund.

Ok, do I send it back and lose the shipping cost and start over....knowing that I will not get a 3,500 pound winch and solenoid this cheap.
If I keep it, I am out like 20 on a roller and another 23 for a handle bar switch.
Or if I could figure out how to wire the dash mounted switch, I suppose I could mount it up and not have the fancy handle bar mount, but I do not see any real place to put a dash switch within easy reach on the polaris so I think that is OUT.....Plus I would still have to modify a plate to mount the roller or buy a new one.......Then of course there is the bare wire on the set I have, I'd have to put terminals on it......

I could get a refund but be out the shipping

Completely different option, take a photo of it and put it back on ebay and let someone else put it together.

Course the local AMVETS are having an auction, I could donate it for their auction.........

All in all I guess I get what I pay for.........trying to save money after spending a few hundred on CV joints, oil, and a replacement front rack... Still not bad for a $500 ATV and a $250 plow that is running and works....still need that snow................

Anyway, what does the group think? Put it together? If so I need to understand the wiring for the switch. Donate it? Send it back? Sell it?
