I bought my first ATV last yr - a 2005 Prairie 360. Lately, it seems that the asking prices, on Craigslist in particular, have increased dramatically. For example, I always used the kbb.com retail and trade-in values whenever I bought/sold a dirt bike. It appears that people are asking well above the kbb.com retail price, at least in the Baltimore and Washington area.

Since I've only been following prices for a year, I'll be the first to admit that I'm no expert on pricing trends. With that said, have the asking prices increased recently, is it because of the snow, is it a regional thing, do the prices always increase this time of year, is it just my imagination, etc?

 

Tax refund time. People are trying to sell there old bikes to buy new ones. The sellers know there is cash out there and they are just trying to get the best price they can.

 

When the economy is slow more people buy used. Supply and demand.
Same thing with used cars right now, CFC and slow economy inflating used prices.

 

I noticed this too. I paid a little too much for my used Rhino. IMO
