If you want a quad that will stay with the 450s that are out there I'd go with a 450 or the Outlaw 525. All of the present crop of 450s are great quads. The 500 Predator, I'm not so sure. Maybe if you asked the Predator owners about races with 450s. I know there are lots of modifications available.

A YFZ 450 is faster than anything with the old 500 Fuji engine(Predator/Outlaw.) But that is stock to stock. Once you start modding it comes down to how much you are willing to spend. With the 450's, they all have strengths and weaknesses, but in the end they are all close. Aftermarket can address any issues or areas you see lacking. The open class quads are every bit as fast as the 450s in a straight line. They don't handle quite as well but are more comfortable for longer rides. Of course, these are all just general statements, and again, some are more "450 like" than others. The KFX450 is a great machine, but I have to say, sounds like a 700R might be more to your liking. Bottom line is you have to read up and if possible ride some of your choices to make the decision.

Yea but the thing is...I never owned a quad or rode one before...so I don't think I could tell the difference really in comparing quads...lol...but what I did was I put some money down on a used 06 Outlaw 500 that's in "Like New" condition that a dealership is selling...so ima get that and learn everything on that...then once I get use to driving it...in a year or two later if I want another quad...I'll know what a be more fit to buy for what I seem to need it for the most...

Fair enough. you will have fun on whatever you are riding. Just be careful and don't ride over your head. It might not hurt to take a riding course or at least find someone to help you out at first. Now go have some fun out there!!
