My old 500i rode like a cadillac compared to the big bear I had before that. Now, that quad would rattle your insides out.

Mainly, I wanted the best ground clearance because the bear kept getting stuck and high centered, my farm is all hills and hardwood trees, lots of limestone rocks. Worked out fine for me, I wanted a machine that can crawl over whatever I run into. That's what I got.

I am a big guy 6'5" and about 335lbs. I have a 2009 500cc King Quad. I paid 6300 for it and it is the special edition. Alum wheels / powder coated racks ect.... Only speaking for my self it has plenty of power for controled climbs and I only got it stuck one time. (snow covered hole I wasnt ready for)
Over all for the money I am very satisfied with the preformance. I did pass on the 750 since it was camo (dont like it) not to mention another 1k. I find my trail speed is about 25-30mph max and the 500 handles that fine with plenty to spare.
I live in just outside of Pittsburgh and there are tons of big rocks and trees and I have not had any clearance issues.
I believe the rear rack is good for 165lbs and the 500cc will tow over 1000lbs
(unless you are on a farm this is more than you will probably ever need)
Bottom line this is a very nice ride.
Now the Negative.
Suzuki missed the boat on storage. It would have been nice to have even a small compartment up front under the rack. (I like the Can Am set up) Anything besides my money, cell phone and maybe a 6 inch hogie has to be straped down to a rack. The rear compartment may allow for a small compressor or maybe a small took kit but that is it.
I would have also prefered the rear plastic to be 3 pieces if you break a rear fender you have to replace the entire rear end plastic. Cracked mine this winter but it was below zero and the plastic lost it's flex.

Good Luck with your purchase.
For my dollar I am happy and have no regrets. (well mabe clipping the left fender on that tree) and I am I sure when you ride whatever you choose to buy you will have an "I wish" moment.

ok guys just got back from test riding the Arctic cat Mudpro 700 H1 EFI...
have to say i did not like it...I LOVED IT..lol
now i am also a big guy...6'2" 280lbs..the place i rode the bike at has a field out back that they let test rides at and i rode it there..the cat 700 had everything i wanted and hoped for..14" clearance is very nice, did not feel tippy or top heavey to me..the thumb button was a little stiff but that is not really an issue i think..it comes snokled from factory and i like that saves me the trouble..

i love this cat 700 and it is the one i plna on getting..just goning to shop around a bit to se if i can get a better deal..they wanted $8538.00 for it..best i could get them down to..so i will see if i can do any better at another dealer..

thanks everyone

If I were you I would test ride another make of some sort to be sure of the quad you want. Basing a quad on one test ride is ok but there might just be another one that you might like better! There are tones of bikes in the 700 class to choose from and you never know what you might find!

go to dirt trax TV they got a mudpro and tested it look at what they have to say. It wasnt the best of review and when atv reviews come out AC is always at the back. Their ride is the worst of all the atvs I tested. O and a side note Dirt traxs TV did a segment a few weeks after they got the mudpro on how to fix axels and surprise the one they where fixing was the bone stock mudpro. Mudding kills the life of your atv FYI

I just don't see a MudPro as fitting your criteria as posted of hunting and trail riding. Mudding? Yes. But I can't imagine that thing as anywhere close to a good trail riding machine.

i dont have a mud pro,but i do have a 700 with 28" tires which gives me the same 14" of ground clearance. I currently have offset wheels on it making it 52" wide. (just got new wheels today, aftermarket stock offset) its as sturdy as any other machine and it tends to run through the mud holes a little easier than stock just because your not riding in the ruts. Believe me, the 2" wider stance is a huge difference for trail riding. i never feel like im going to tip. I can run just as fast as the others, well, within reason. The tight trails can be a little slower running, but not bad. good luck.
