battery tender help
#1
Hi all, Question... I got a Battery Tender plus and hooked it up yesterday. It flashed until I pluged it in (I am using the accessory adapter on my King Quad) then went steady red like it was supposed to. But only after I turned the key over to the strting point and back to off with the unit in place. It ran about 5 hours and went dead. No light at all. Does this happen? I didn't read anything about the unit or light going off in the material that came with it.
So, I figured it was defective and went and got another one locally. It just did the same exact thing. I'll return the first, but I was wondering what could be wrong, or if the light comes on and off? Oh, I changed outlets the second time just in case that was a problem.
Anyone know if the light goes on and off? Any help would be geatly appreciated.

I have a battery maintainer brand and it has 2 lights. My guess with yours is that once the battery is charged completely,it turns off so it don't over charge it. Then it will come back on when it reads the voltage has dropped to a certain voltage. I noticed this with mine. green means fully charged, yellow means charging and it kicks back and forth as long as its on the battery.

I use the battery tender international with twin banks. Mine flashes I believe red when it is under 85% charged then turns to a solid light when it is over 85 but not completely charged. When complete it turns solid green. It will stay solid green as long as I keep it plugged in. I use the pig tail with the rings and connect directly to the battery...unplug and roll up under the seat when not in use (I dont use it during the summer).
I dont know that yours is the same but I would guess that it is similar! Good Luck!
