Ice cold Beer - frrosty mug...

LOL!!!!

Started? They eventually stopped. This was before recycling, but the bottlers did reuse the bottles that were returned if they were in good shape.
They used to do that with soda bottles too.

3¢ for a 16oz bottle. If you were lucky you could find a 32oz bottle and get 5¢.

And what do you mean: unless it's changed over the past 20 years? I never heard of keystone until about maybe 8-10 years ago.
My goto beer in highschool was old Milwaukee's best or Pabst blue ribbon. OMG! I just had a thought as I type this. I'm not sure if I can even find my old goto beer anymore around here. Does that mean I'm getting OLD! My wife always say's it but I never pay her any attention. LOL.

lets see...

I graduated class of 92- so pretty much between 89-92 I remember collecting money from my friends (usually fists full of quartes stolen from the coke machine by doing the ol' dollar bill and scotch tape trick
) then hanging out at the package store and trying to get someone to buy me a case of beer- I always told'em to buy keystone because it was the cheapest.

Back around 1990 me & my cousin (both of us 17 or 18 yrs old) were cruising around Douglas, MA in his '66 Mustang (all fixed up pretty nice) stopping at every liquor store trying to get the badazz looking guys to pick us up some beer. After a few tries one guy says "I can't do that"... Us: "why ?" guy:"because I'm a cop"... Us: "uh. OK... Thanks anyway"...
After that we decided to head home and call it a (sober) night...
Half-way home we got pulled over & interrogated by officer McLaughlin. I guess it wasn't real hard to spot that '66 Mustang...
He eventually ended up releasing us to the custody of my uncle who happened to be passing through. My uncle took us home and gave us a stern lecture over a couple beers. LOL
Those were the days !

Fortunately, we knew the limits when breaking the law. Growing up in a small college town, we learned who would and wouldn't sell to minors. We also had low (3.2 alcohol) and high beer. Was in a place that the owners knew our family. Just as I walked out with my 3.2 beer, guy runs up with a badge.
Keeps the beer and takes my dl info. Letting us go with a warning. When we're walking out, stops a guy with a bottle of wine. Not old enough. Cuffs him an puts him under arrest.
Not sure if the guy was cutting me a break cause he was in a good mood, or because I lived there or what. Just glad he did.
Had to go to the other side of town and get some beer to help me relax.

No lie, Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge, MA used to sell cases of beer in white cans with blue lettering that said "BEER". There was no other writing at all. I still have a can if anyone wants to try it....Bet it makes Keystone taste like Sam Adams!

Worst beer I ever got was on clearance and was Miller Lite. Now I've drunk ML a lot of times and like it fine but something was very wrong with that one batch. Guarantee there was a reason for the price.
