How much would you pay for this house? (NY/NJ)
I know this is a strange question, but I'm curious what the folks in NY or NJ think this property is worth:
1BR 1BA 800 sf, totally renovated in move-in condition. Sits on 2+ acres. Also has adjoining 4+ acre property with old house in poor condition. Was inhabited until 2000 when there was a fire so condition of well and septic in unknown, but has electric. So almost 7 acres of wooded property. Lots of deer.
It's very private and the 4 acres could even be called secluded, but it's only 12-14 minutes from major shopping, car dealers, etc. It's 5 mins from the Hudson River and 30 minutes from the forever-wild Catskill Park, etc. 2 + hours from New York City. Here's the best part:
It adjoins a huge (300+) acre wooded area that leads to sand pits, mud holes, hills, etc. - in other words - ATV paradise! The property owner is not local and does not care if people ride in there as long as they are local, and as long as the police are not involved. The residents don't care as long as there are no cars parked on the street (no outsiders).
What would you pay for something like this?
