Coke, rum and Coke, Jim Beam and Coke, etc. Although Jim Beam is even better with Dr. Pepper. My main soft drink is Vernor's. I also drink Squirt when I'm riding. It cuts through the dust better than anything else. Like Windex for your throat.

Coke gives me a terrible aftertaste. I only drink Pepsi as far as dark colas. Fortunately I no longer drink much of it either and stick with water. Used to drink at least a 6 pack a day. Now it's more like 1 can a month. It really doesn't taste as good now as it used to but Coke is still worse. Perhaps oddly however, if I just sip little bits I can't tell the difference. I only get the aftertaste if I take a gulp.

Diet Coke cuts through the phlegm pretty well too.
