HMF Exhaust help???
Installed a Hmf exhaust on my 01 kodiak 400.
Ran bike on stock jets. Bike ran strong just alot of backfire throughout the ride plus didnt feel bike reached max speed.. Like it was running out of fuel.
Installed hmf recommended 140 jet and now bike bogs out all through out the ride plus is no where near top speed.
Stock jet was 132.5
Idle jet 70
Hmf jet 140
Felt like it needed more fuel so went with a 145 and still bogs out.
Played with the airflow mixture and no improvements.
Plug was white..
Anybody with similar troubles and or solutions?
Thanks

You may already know but a white plug means lean (not enough fuel). Jetting is a hit and miss situation. It requires a lot of adjusting to find the right setting and no two bikes are ever the same. The best thing you can do is buy a jet kit for the bike. Part number JKY400KA, $48.95 from High Lifter. This particuliar kit includes 1 Main Jet DJ120, 1 Main Jet DJ122, 1 Main Jet DJ124, 1 Main Jet DJ126, 1 Main Jet DJ128, 1 Main Jet DJ130, 1 Main Jet DJ132, 1 Main Jet DJ134, 1 Fuel Needle DNO490, 1 Needle Spring DSP77, 1 Adjusting Washer DW0001, & 1 E-Clip DE0001. Here is a link to the installation instructions. This would certainly be a more time efficient way to get the bike where it needs to be.
