Default Outdoor ATV storage

This year we got a third ATV so one of them has to be stored outside. It is under a deck so it is partially covered. Guess which one gets ridden the most? The one that is always outside and accessible. My Honda is such a pain to get out of the garage that it only gets ridden when I trailer it somewhere. My question is how likely is the ATV to be damaged by storage outside? Do any of you permanently store any of your ATV's outside? This winter I may bring the outside ATV in the garage to do some work on it. Will keeping the Honda TRX300FW outside for a month or so in the winter hurt it?

Get a good quality plastic cover or tarp to keep rain and snow off it. If it's on bare ground maybe put a tarp under it too to keep humidity from rising up under the machine. Shouldn't be too hard on the quad.

Sounds like a good spot with a tarp over the quad. The only other thing I can think of that may be a problem is mice getting into the airbox. If it's going to sit I would get mouse poison. I think it's called Decon. Better than them tearing things up. Squirrels can also be a problem.

I always store my ATV outside since I don't have a garage and it won't fit in my shed. I only cover it in the winter to keep the snow off but after 5 years sitting outside the seat is starting to show some aging. It looks like it's starting to deteriorate because of the sun. Now I know I need to cover it year-round. I have an ATV cover with elastic around the bottom. It only takes a couple minutes to put it on. It's similar to this picture but doesn't cover the wheels.

I do not have the room to store them inside all winter and our winters are long and deep. I just tarp them good. Once a month I start it up and let it idle for 5 minutes. Put gas stabilizer in it also.

Default Storage outside

I dont have inside storage either the best i found for my two is to put four pallets down then cover your wheelers with and old soft blanket then a quality tarp.the pallets allow air flow to keep moisture and mold/mildew from occurring and the soft blanket under the tarp keeps the wind blowing your tarp from scuffing up your plastics
