Allow me to be the first of many to recommend Maxxis Bighorns.

28" Zillas on my 550xp and 26" mudlites on the 500 sportsman. I rid emostly trails but I too do not like to be stuck when playing in the mud occassionally.

Its up to lug high/depth for traction bite.
For a good example. look at Mudlites.

They have Mudlite (AT) with .75" lugs (XL) with 1.12" lug and (XXL) with aggressive 1.25" lugs. ITP Mud Lite

Depends on your riding, you do not want MudZillas with 1.5" lugs on hard packed trails or you will vibrate you teeth out of you head. Can't beat them in the slop thow.

I like Mudlite XLs or Maxxis Zilla because they are in between trail tires and serious mud tires. Jack of all trades master of none.
Here is a good link for tire specs.http://www.mud-throwers.com/atv_mud_tires

When Mudlite XXL tires are half worn out its like having new Mudlite (AT) trail tires.

Rims is up to your taste for looks.

I like the interco swamplites. 5,500 miles on a set of 28" and at half the tread now. Put 26" on my can am and RZR. Good all around tire. Not the lightest, not the heaviest. Pitbull rockers or growlers are a real good tire too. Maybe my next tire i purchase.

I vote for Bighorn's. I got mine at 4WO-ATV Truck Accessories, at a good price. They perform flawlessly in the trail. When it comes to mud, they are average.
