Need help deciding on quad purchase
#1
My kids have been riding quads since they were 2 years old believe it or not. Now my son is 9 and my daughter is 6 and its time to get them some new quads.
Right now my son rides a Kymco 2-stroke 50 and my girl rides a Suzuki 4-stroke 50. Both have outgrown their rides. We went out looking today and the youth market seems barren. Im afraid to get my son a 90 because im afraid it wont be any faster than the 2-stroke 50 he has now, but the only 125cc i can find is chinese (Icebear??) Anybody have an opinion on Icebear?
How will a Polaris or Honda 90 compare to a 2-stroke 50?

a 90 should be good till they are around 12 depending how heavy they are. honestly i'd probably just find the cheapest 90 you can even if it's Chinese junk because you're only gonna need it for a few years so not much point spending too much

The great thing about the Japanese 90s are that you can buy a used one and then sell it a year or two later and take a very small financial hit. The Chinese stuff still brakes down to much. My time is limited and I would rather ride vs wrench.
The other thing is you can big bore the TRX 90 to a 125, and something like a Pred 90 2 stroke has plenty of bolt on potential as well.
Depending on your budget, these guys might have an answer.

I agree. My friend bought a used Brand name Yamaha kids ATV for $1200 and sold it a year or two later for a loss off $100.
The people who bought it will do the same.
$100 for a few years use is a good deal.
If he would of bought a new china junk it would just break down and be worth nothing on re-sell time when the kids grow out of it.
