Default yamaha warrior 350 wont start

I have a 2003 Yamaha warrior, and it won't start! I bought it that way as a learning project! I'm new to the world of atv's so all help is greatly appreciated! I'm getting fire and I've got fuel going to the carb! It just turns over and over! Could it be timing or maybe cdi box?? I did about all the basics that I could do now its over my head I think!! Any suggestions?

Has to have fire, fuel air,and compression. If you have spark, wouldn't suspect electrical problems. You can check valves to see if they're too tight, plus depending on condition,if it's been sitting up may need a carb clean/carb kit.http://www.ebay.com/itm/CARB-CARBURETOR-REBUILD-KIT-YAMAHA-WARRIOR-350-350X-YFM350X-1988-2004-YFZ350X-/281251145854?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item417bdfe87e&vxp=mtr Here's a link to a free pdf service manual that shows you step by step on valve adjustment and useful for maintenance and other repairs.. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...,d.aWc&cad=rja

Sorry! This is just an owner's manual, but will help on other things. Valve clearance at TDC is .06-.10 mm on intake valve, .16-.20 mm on exhaust valve.Probably other videos out there on adjusting the Warrior valve clearance, but the ones I found sucked!

Like I said I'm new to this but are you thinking that if the valves are to tight or to loose then it won't start? Because all it does is turns over and never runs! Sorry for the dumb questions but trying to figure this crap out!

Either valves too tight, low compression(from tight valves or piston/rings) or carb needs cleaning/carb kit or could be little of each especially since you have spark and fuel supply to the carb. If you have a compression tester, wouldn't hurt to check compression after the valves are checked or adjusted. Manual says at least 121 psi. Just eliminate one thing at a time.

Every time I have had trouble with a warrior starting, it's been the stator/PU coil. Have you tried bump starting it? My last warrior would not start with the electric starter but it would when bump started. Put a new stator in it and it fired right up from then on.....

I would look for a safety switch locked for one reason or another. There are numerous ones. Hand brake, neutral safety, must be in neutral, seat switch. usually if the engine will turn over when you press the start button the electrical is ok. I'd pull all the fenders off and start tracing the wiring looking for something unplugged. Get yourself a service manual and save yourself a lot of grief. I've seen CD manuals on ebay pretty cheap.

When all else fails, either one of these or a hard cover manual.http://www.ebay.com/itm/2003-YAMAHA-YFM350-WARRIOR-4X2-ATV-REPAIR-MANUAL-/301108158272?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item461b71df40&vxp=mtr
Or a free older model manual may help.Better than chasing your tail.http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...mp%3Bcad%3Drja
