Default Advice;flipped my 350

Hi, I was just wondering how everyone feels after they've done something like flip their quad. It was only my third time riding this past Friday I have a warrior 350. My boyfriend was trying to explain to me how to do a better doughnut and I went and tried to do it and flipped my quad and I flew off and am all bruised up. Mentally I am scared to ride and have something seriously bad happen to me. I know they are risky no matter what and I had my helmet on but I can't seem to get the picture of my heavy quad flying over my face. He tells me I just need to get back on but I said I don't know yet. Just wondering how others have felt about something like this happening. Thanks !

Man up, suck it up, but ride with common sense. Doing doughnuts the third time you ride is not smart. Learn to ride, learn to balance and know your limits then you can try doughnuts.

Yeah, I wasn't going crazy or anything my bf just explained it to me and I guess I got caught on a rock or something and leaned the wrong way. It happened so quick and I held on my throttle so it turned out worse. Thinking of just trail riding when I get healed

i don't really do silly things like that but i can relate to being scared of getting back on. when i was 17 i rolled going up a hill and the quad landed on me breaking my leg in 2 places. now i never really had an issue getting back on the quad but i was very afraid of hills for about 5 years and would avoid hilly trails or looks for a way around

worst part was that hill i rolled on was a hill i'd gone up hundreds of times but 1 little mistake with the throttle and i bit the dirt

In my book, when you can walk away from a spill with just bruises, you should consider yourself very lucky. Take this as a lesson learned and hopefully you will make better decisions going forward.

Yeah I know I got really lucky I only had whiskey throttle for a few seconds then I realized what was happening quick and I pushed the quad away from me as hard as I could I'm pretty small compared to my 350 I only weigh 124 so we my boyfriend tells me to lean into it I feel like It doesn't do enough. I'm definitely not going to be trying anything like that for a long time ! Thank god I'm only all bruised up even though I think I may have permanently lost feeling in part of my thought because I can't feel it to the touch anymore

Take your time and ride at your comfort level, not the level the others want you to ride. If you haven't taken a safety class they're a good start on learning about do's and don'ts on ATVs.

if you enjoy riding, get back on the horse and be safe. donuts, not safe for beginners. jumping, not safe for beginners. remember that youre going to fall, its a part of riding. ive been lucky enough to never be seriously hurt but my dad spilled on a hill climb and the handle bar went through his leg. he nearly died from the infection. but he loved riding so kept riding. maybe a 350 is a little too much for a small girl to learn on. does anyone have a 125 or something that you could learn on untill youre more comfortable riding?

Donuts are funny like that.
Sometimes they work, sometimes they just go all wrong and quickly.

I've been riding for about 17 years, I've never had a really bad accident, but I have been thrown off kind of hard a couple of times. I always got right back on it. But Luke others have said, you have to take your time and develop your skills at your own pace. Just like anything else, it takes time. And even if you have 30 years experience, you still have to drive with your head, not your thumb if that makes sense.
