Looking for old Polaris expert to help with diagnostic on my 2000 Polaris 250 explorer 4x4 quad. Bought it last week ran great started right up....however it did die on test ride....used this to my advantage to make a low ball offer figuring it was something simple since it ran just fine. Have changed fuel changed oil changed spark plug tore down carb cleaned it put back together. Great compression great spark plenty of fuel to carb but will not start again. Don't wanna spend a ton of money diagnosing the problem it has to be something simple considering I rode it and it ran great.....please help me!!!!

Has good top end compression, good spark and fuel and air. Usually all an engine needs. First thing I'd do if it was mine, I'd pull the clutch cover and drive clutch and check the crankshaft seal. This is the worst one for damage.I've had them completely pop out along with leaking. If leaking bad enough or if it has popped out no way they will run. Can't compress the fuel/oil mixture and send it up the transfer ports for ignition. #27 and #17 for the other side. http://www.cyclepartswarehouse.com/f...2000&fveh=5494
