Default Who has tried Elka Shocks

I recently pulled the trigger on the Elko Stage 4 kit for my 2013 400ex. They seem to be pretty cheap at $1000 So I said what the heck ill try them. I am strictly a recreational trail rider. I wont be on any tracks or racing.

Can anyone tell me their experiences with them?

Elkas are impressive shocks. The stage 4s were retailing for $3k not too long ago so don't base the quality or performance on the price. Just about every type of ATV race was won on a professional level with Elkas including the Baja 1000. The reason they are cheap is because Elka is about drop a whole new line of aluminum bodied shocks. I'm sure they will be lighter but other than that, there won't be much of a difference.

i currently have 4 ATVs with Elkas ( 2 utility quads, 2 sport) and the trail is where i feel they shine the most although you'll notice more of a difference once the pace picks up. Just be specific when telling them your riding style and weight to ensure the best possible custom valving.

I rode on a 300 ex with a set of stage 4 Elkas and I was amazed by how they felt at slow speeds, and i was speachless when we picked up speed, they are the best shocks i have ever had the pleasure to adjust, and work with

Good shocks. If you get a chance, send them off to a good builder to ensure you have the best spring rates and valving for your weight and riding style. Shocks set up properly are the single best mod you can make on an atv I feel.
