I just ordered a winch for my 2002 Honda Recon, the Superwinch LT2000 with the fairlead, I dont plan on spending 70 dollars for the winch mounting plate, just gonna get make my own. My main question is how does everyone else have the fairlead mounted, according to the description for my kit is said the mounting hardware for it is not included?

 

I think they usually mount on the adapter plate.
