I thought the same thing about the snorkels. I could understand if it was a problem with the motor but snorkels have nothing to do with the diff. I have been to every dealer in my area and every one of them said the same thing. Snorkels void ALL warranty in the bike. It's stupid bud I guess that's just the way it is. As for the tires it does have 30" tires on it. But since I bought the bike off the showroom floor with the tires on it try said the tires was no problem as far as warranty goes. It's just the snorkel.

Had the same problem on extended warranties when people modified machines. Had several adjusters cancel policies as soon as they saw relocated radiators, snorkels, etc. Customers that paid cash for the warranties were reimbursed on time remaining on their policies. Saw some unhappy people, but I had to stay neutral on this and out of the way of some heated arguments between customers and insurance adjusters..

I didn't even think 30" tires would fit without a lift, guess they have a lot of extra room under the fenders. But in reality, it was the tires that broke the front diff. The dealer is blaming the snorkel but its totally unrelated. Maybe with stock size tires, you would never have known the diff was the weak link. The bigger tires stressed a weak factory part too much.

I guess you got me on that one. I stand corrected. I doubt many people opt for that configuration but yes Honda does offer the 5 speed manual foot shift for the Rubicon. Its the only quad that currently offers a semi-auto foot shift and irs. The Yamaha Big Bear was the only other quad that ever offered both and it is no longer in production. I had never heard of anyone owning a foot shift Rubicon before, you're the first. Everyone else wants the dual clutch auto version. But the foot shift obviously costs less.

I thought about buying the automatic. I have a buddy who has the automatic rubicon and he has had nothing but hell out of it. He has been fight in with gear position sensors and everything else so I just got the foot shift. And yes 30's will fit without a lift. I bought it off the showroom floor with 30's with no lift.

But aside from the dealership bs I found the test for the actuator in the tech manual. It said that there is two prongs in the plug you can hook straight to the battery. I sit that and nothing so I guess I'll be ordering a new actuator. Hopefully that will fix the problem

Hope that fixes it for you. Sounds like way too many headaches for a brand new machine. The reason people buy new is to avoid mechanical issues. Sometimes you just get a bad one, even Hondas.

The dealer already stated that it was a defect nothing to do with the snorkel. Go get a business card from a local lawyer that give free consultations. Go see the dealer and tell them you want reimbursed for at least all the parts since it was a warranty issue. Explane to them that they cannot use the snorkels as a excuse to void warranty unless they can prove 100% it was the snorkels that cause the issue. If that does not work pull the business card out and tell them you are going to see that lawyer. Im pretty sure you can find a document online that will also state that they cannot void waranty due to upgrades unless they caused the damage. Iv found one and used it before. Businesses are also extreamly scared of social media as once its up its up for life.

My cousin just bought a 2015 Rubicon with power steering. Its goes into full Auto or 5 speed thumb shift only. Are you sure its not a Foreman? They have IRS and EFI now with foot shift.

Of course Honda has the naming all confusing now, They call one a "Foreman" and the other a "Foreman/Rubicon" now. http://www.atv.com/specs/honda/utili...bicon/4x4.html
