Can somebody tell me how to wash my sportsman 800? I've heard no and yes on pressure washers.

Water hose, soapy hand mitt is best. You can power spray around wheels and suspension, but be careful around wiring and connectors. If you do pressure wash I'd take the time to dry out wiring and use electrical grease in connectors. I can't remember how many machines showed up at the shop for non starting issues after pressure washing. Just use common sense on this.

If you do use a pressure washer be very careful. They have enough power to blow decals off. Now imagine that amount of pressure hitting your CV joints. You could wash the grease away and fill them with water. Same thing with other areas. I heard someone say to use a pressure washer with the pressure turned down. Why not just use a hose? I use a hose, a bucket of warm water with dish soap in it, and a big sponge. I'm thinking of using rags instead of the sponge next time because it's old and getting torn up.

pressure washers are great, you just need to use a bit of common sense. If you hold the tip too close to a cv joint boot you'll destroy it... if you hold it too close to a electrical connector you'll destroy it... if you hold it too close to your radiator, there is a good chance you'll bend the fins. Water gets in connectors no matter if you use a hose, a pressure washer or a creek/stream/puddle.

I would vote NO on pressure washers across the board...its just overkill..you can , in most cases, achieve a clean machine with a rag, brush and soapy water and a hose with a sprayer nozzle. the risk of what a pressure washer can do that is bad aint worth it to me

You must not have tried to clean a machine after a day of playing in the mud especially clay. Last time I try ed a hose for that it took over 4 hours and it still had clay packed in places. Use common sence when using presure washer and u will have no issues
