Default How much is an atv with a blown engine?

Hi i have an 2006 Artic Cat Trx 500 with a blown suzuki engine the problem with it we think a rod is broken. But also it has a new 2015 body. Nothing else about the atv is wrong. If I were to sell it what would be a good price?

Thanks in advance!

Its about a $3000 machine in good running order. With a blown engine, probably about half that. Figure at least $1500 for a complete engine rebuild. I could have bought a Brute Force 750 with a blown engine a few years ago for $1500. The 750 v-twin is more expensive rebuild though, looking at $2000 or more.

Personally i would not give more than $500-$1000 tops.. U never know what else could/world be wrong with the machine. Depending on how bad the engine is it could be requiring a whole new engine not just a rebuild.

Yeah, I would have to agree with Zrock and even stick with $500.

Different body than stock and it's got a blown motor. Two red flags right off the bat.

Yeah, its a tough sell with a bad motor. Its debatable whether its worth getting it fixed or not. You may or may not get what you spent out of it. In running order its definitely worth more but the cost of fixing it might be more than what you can get out of it.

Atv with a blown engine.. Either fix it if cost isn't prohibitive or sell it for parts on ebay. Depending on popularity of the atv you can make some good bucks on parts. Probably more than what you could sell it out right for in some cases, though it certainly would take some time and effort going this route.Looking on ebay does look like a lot of people have time on their hands or they do it for a living like the salvage yards.
