Runva is Chinese but I had good luck with a Polaris winch that was made in China. Some Chinese stuff is okay and some is crap. It all depends on quality control which some companies don't seem to have. Runva sounds like one of the good ones. Watch the country of origin closely, China is crap but Taiwan is good quality, many people just assume the Taiwan is same as China but a very big difference. In Taiwan the American companies can come in and set up standards and quality control measures where they cannot do so in China...you take what you got!!

other than a bad bearing never had a issue with Runava winches. been running them for years and abused them pretty bad and they still keep running. You get down to it all the manufacturers get their products made over seas don't kid yourself if you think they don't

Ramsey, Warn, and KFI all make winches in the US. I don't know if that's all of them or just some of them.

Kind of beating a dead horse. Seems like the OP has only the one post and has moved on. Typical.

Be rest assured the grease did not cause the electrical issue as it does not conduct electricity. If you had sparks, you had another wire touching somewhere and those electrical components do not take being shorted out in any way. There are test for those but I am not familiar with them so you need to do some research.

You should start a new thread in the Honda forum. You can get some help there by people who might not see your post on this other topic.
