Default Stolen ignition polaris 500 Touring 2008

Thiefs came and stole my ignition Switch! Problem is they ripped out the wires from the male plug end inside the console. No idea how to wire it back up. Anyone face this? My polaris shop told me to post it on a forum for some instructions. Wiring diagram doesn't help much. I purchased the new switch however they couldn't supply the mall end for it to plug into.

Since you can't get the harness connector without buying a new harness, you might check this site and other motor cycle/atv connector sites that may have the connector you need. Motorcycle Connectors

Awesome link however how do I know which one to get? Also if I get the right plug which fits into the new ignition how do I know what order the wires go in?

Different sub assemblies within that link I posted that can narrow it down, but what you need is a 6 pin male connector. Take your switch to a good auto or hardware store and they probably can help you with one that will mate. As far as the wiring, the wiring schematic shows what color wires on which pin.

Only way I can think of is either through this manual for 5 bucks.2008 Polaris Sportsman Touring 500 EFI Service Manual PDF Download Or this one from Tradebit.https://www.tradebit.com/filedetail....efi-x2-touring Don't know if you already have one or the other.

Stealing your wiring harness?? Unbelievable !! Wouldn't it have been easier to take the whole bike? Not sure what people think nowadays....back to your predicament here..not sure but have you checked "cyclepedia" they offer online manuals for various models, in my case they show a complete wiring diagram with color coding, not sure if this is true on all models and manuals but might be worth a shot. Good luck..

Someone stealing a wire harness makes no sense in the first place. There's no logic involved in an act like that. Its not like you could get any money from a bunch of frayed wires. And no way to make it look like it wasn't stolen. Thieves steal things they can get easy money from. It would have made more sense to steal the battery, at least it has some value.
