So what years are considered early? If I'm looking at 03-04 or later is that late enough to have reverse?

I hear you on it not being a big deal. I just know that if I got one without reverse, and got into a situation where I needed it, I'd be pissed that I didn't have it.

 

A little research shows it was the 05 model year that got reverse. They are fairly easy to tell as the early ones have different plastics. Good luck in your search!
