Polaris Parts
#1
So is it just Polaris parts that take days to get or is it all ATV dealers? My local dealer never has the parts I need, and it takes a week to get almost any part I order through them.
The online places also seem to take over a week for any Polaris part I need. I’m ready to go back ,Yamaha,Honda,Kawasaki,or Suzuki and see if the problem is the same.
Do those brands have the same problem on pretty much every part you order?

First off you have to try to put your self in the dealers position.. I know customer satisfaction, bend over backwards, etc which many do and we tried at the shop, but on parts how can a dealer large or small afford to carry ALL parts for all makes and models they sell? Nearly impossible as not only the huge amount of money involved ,but the space alone that would be needed.Plus on some parts they may sit awhile eating up profits. Most dealers stock the essentials, plus common wear items such as starters, brake pads, etc.Problem on the time to get parts is the same in most shops. They wait until they have a certain amount on parts orders so they can get free shipping themselves. I know it sucks sometimes,a lot of dealer makes exceptions just as we did for many customers, but that's the reason even Honda,Yamaha, shops around our area did the same thing. You need it in a hurry, then there's blue label (2 day) red label(1 day) or over night.. Each step gets higher on the amount carriers charge that's passed on to the customer. I'm playing devils's advocate on this one as I've seen it on both sides of the counter.

I don’t expect the dealer to stock everything, but my local dealer cannot even seem to get anything within a weeks time. Then there is ordering online, still it is hard to get parts within a week unless it is common wear parts. I even paid for expedited shipping to have the parts by this weekend, and nothing.
None of my stuff is new, so I can understand the dealer not having most of the parts I need in stock, but going online, I wouldn’t think everything would take over a week.
When I called to get the status on my order, they even said that Polaris parts take the longest to get. I love Polaris, I have six of them right now, but I have to wonder if Raptor, or parts for one of the 450’s take as long to get.

If you paid for expedited shipping, then I've have a talk with the dealer. His only reason on this would be that he either forgot or there was a temporary back order on parts. We had that happen several times on parts and that ties everyones hands. Same thing I talked to about with some techs in a couple other shops that had the same problem at times, waiting on parts to finish up jobs.
