Polaris Ranger
#1
I am thinking of getting a Polaris Ranger. Have not decided on the 4x4 or the 6x6. Does anyone have any idea what a good price would be for either of these. I don't know if dealers will budge from MSRP or not. Thanks in advance for any help.
Also if you have any comments about these 2 I would appreciate it.

I bought a 2002 ranger 4x4 last june. I paid $8900 out the door. After I haggled to that price, I took it to two other dealers to see if they would go any lower. One dealer offered $9100 OTD the other $9300 OTD. So I went back to the original dealer for $8900.
I would reccomend the 4x4 over the 6x6. The 6x6 weighs too much. It is way to slow. I raced a 6x6 out in the desert and it wasnt even close. If it was a 100 yard hill, he was probably about 50-60 yards up it when I was already at the top. The 6x6 has open differentials in the rear, while the 4x4 has a locker in the rear- so they basically have the same amount of traction. The 4x4 and 6x6 both have the same towing/hauling capacities. The 4x4 has a much smaller turning radius. I would get the 4x4.
if you have any questions let me know.

Thank you for the info, I will probably end up with the 4x4. Just have to talk the wife into getting me an early Christmas present. I will probably stop at the local dealer and see what kind of price he wants. Did you get the automatic bed lift or the manual?

I got the manual tilt bed. The hinges for the tilt are near the middle of the bed and springs help you dump it. I wouldn't get the electric tilt unless you will be hauling very heavy loads (500+ lbs) every day. Sometimes I fill the bed with loose top soil and I can dump it pretty easily by myself.

Great, thanks. I was wondering if the Auto lift was worth the money. Does not sound like it for what I would be doing, and since it sound easy to tilt with manual, that is the way I will go. Mostly haul dirt, mulch, leaves, twigs and branches.
