By the way, LArhino; thanks for the info and feel free to private message me if you want to keep in touch with another guy who is having trouble waiting (we are about to go into full fall color peak up here and would like to go out and enjoy it!).

We really need to get some kind of side-by-side club going as this thing, "I think"; is just going to 'explode' out on the market.

Or maybe we are looking at the next Pilot/Odysee?

We'll probably find out if and when the next manufacturer tries to get on the wagon.

Sounds like a good idea Blackballed. Most of the local dealer allocations through next 6 months are spoken for. A good buddy of mine is a Yamaha & Kawasaki dealer and his was really ticked at his last Kawasaki dealer meeting (last month - September 03) because he heard rumors that Kawasaki was coming out with a product to compete with the Rhino but they did not announce anything. I had a grizzley and was making multiple trips to the duck blind (3 sons, gear, dog, etc.) and several of my buddies have purchased mules, jacked them up with big mud tires. I was very close to the purchasing a mule in July when I heard about the Rhino. I hope I made a good decision and based upon all the reviews, I think I made a great decision. We will see and I will post up when I hear anything.

I am from Louisiana and just got a call from a dealer in Mississippi and it has arrived. Another dealer just called me and said their October allocation is shipping to them on the 11th. I am fixing to call my dealer in hopes that mine will arrive early next week. Bottom line, they are in the States, have been released to the dealers and are being shipped. Will let you know when I pick mine up and hope that some of you will also post up when you get yours.

The dealer here on the Westbank is a total idiot. If you don't mind me asking...what dealer in Mississippi are you using? I moved here from Monroe, and talked to the dealer up there. I have a '99 Grizzly from them that I bought new, and they wanted to keep my business. But they quoted me sticker, so I am still shopping. I have kept up with the Rhino ever since I first heard about them back in the spring. I definitely am going to buy one, just looking around for a fair deal. Thanks for letting me air that out.....have a great day!!!!......Jim

It'd be nice to keep in touch with you guys and thanks for the update, LA.

I could definitely see Kawasaki putting the big twin in theirs and claiming a lot of things over the 660 that they have with the Prairie and now the new AC.

Hi, this is 01J from Yamaha and I was in charge of Rhino development for two and a half years. I'll give you a few of bits of info on the Rhino. First, the wheels are different from the Grizzly. Sorry. Second, the speed is advertised at 35 mph because we changed the final drive ratio as compared to the Grizz to get more low end torque. Finally, this vehicle is not built off a Grizz platform. It has it own chassis specifically developed for this vehicle. The front and rear suspensions are unique, as are almost all of the underhood parts. The only parts shared with the Grizz are the engine (with different gearing), and the front diff. And in case your worried about your deposit, I'll tell you that I'm planning to purchase my own Rhino once all you guys get yours. This thing is absolutely the most fun vehicle that I have ever been on (is that biased?)! Final note, all development was performed at the factory in Newnan, Georgia. Good luck and have fun! And yes, we are in production.

O1J,

We all can't thank you enough for taking the time to come on here and give us that info...........although I "knew" darn well that I shouldn't have bought those wheels!......the anticipation involved in this thing has definitely affected my better judgement.

What a treat to get the skinny from someone in on the ground floor. That is the first time (although I suspected as much) that we have heard the engine gearing issue be confirmed (as well as the suspension mods) after learning that the CVT went through similiar modifications.

Again, we are certainly grateful for what you have given us and would like to keep in touch with you throughout the years to hopefully have you visit with some owners one day at a gathering. I think there are going to be plenty more people who will reach the same biased(lol) opinion as yourself and hope we can all get together and hear about how this machine went from concept to production.

Please keep in touch and I will try to private message you with my number and e-mail as I think the idea of a national side-by-side organization would be kind of fun.

John
