I just found out we are not welcome in the 4WD clubs either........which is O.K.; as the atv clubs up here didn't care for us much when we rode quads!......(some of these guys actually had to stop and "think" a little bit about big city selfishness )...........sounds like a "revolution" to me!.
There are a lot of people who don't welcome the introduction of these machines and most of them are on two wheels.
Sooner or later, we will all be riding on the same multi-use trails with width/weight restrictions and folks like the AMA don't like it one bit. These machines have proven that you can take a disabled, young or "non-athletic" person out into the country, with minimum damage to a trail system, and FINALLY make our outdoors TRULY accessible to ALL.
There is a big fight on the horizon, as this country starts to realize that there are just not enough trails out there to give one group with exceptional skills; 'exclusive' access to public land over another group who may not possess those same attributes.
If the AMA thought burying their heads in the sand over the helmet issue was the way to keep revenue flowing.......let's see them 'duck' the multi-use issue as these machines and standard atvs become more popular.
Today's kids are refusing to be told that they must join a club where you ride one machine, and one machine only, on a trail that their buddies can't access. Hopefully, this will cause the formation of other organizations that better serve the riding public as a whole.

Any word yet? I am still hearing "any day" from my dealer. Actually visited with a dealer that rode one a month ago and he was extremely impressed. A few comments that I thought were interesting were:
#1 - it would cut a doughnut without the feeling of tipping over (grass was we at the time) - see point #4
#2 - easily shoot roosters in 2WD when you get on it from a stop
#3 - he caught about 4ft of air on a test track and the land was very nice due to suspension
#4 - very well balanced due to fact most of weight is in the very center
#5 - brought it up to the bottom of the seats in water
#6 - this is a mule guy and he was real impressed. Basically said that he now feels the mule is 90% work machine and 10% fun/sport. The rhino is the complete opposite.

I have been calling my dealer in Oklahoma since early July. He assures me that I will get the first one he gets. I talked to him last night and he says they haven't arrived in the warehouse for this area. He claims from the warehouse to the dealership takes 5 days.
Hope to get one soon.

I was all excited till I read in one of my mags that the top end is only around 35mph, I thought with the Grizzly motor, it would be reaching atleast 50mph, the Polaris Ranger even hits 40 they say. I know there not meant to go quick but to atleast keep up with the ATV's would be nice on a trip. No sence of one coming along the ATV's would always be waiting.

would you want to go faster than 35 in this thing? seems like it would be a little unstable at 35mph.

I'm going crazy my self. I'm supposed to get the first one from my dealer, and he said it should be in October. Time is ticking away!!! I ditched my brand new Ranger 6X6 when I learned about this. It's driving me up the wall waiting.

Got a message from my Mid-Michigan dealer that our unit arrived on Saturday while away at H/M (3 years spent attempting to hit a "peak" fall color weekend and we finally timed it right.........FANTASTIC!!!).
We are both very pumped up also and can't wait to test/tune and start installing the accessories.
Still interested in starting a side-by-side club if anybody else out there feels the same and is willing to split the work (what seems to be the haulmark of any good organization).
Let's hear about those first experiences in the driver's seat (and your passenger's terrified expression!)................

At first, I thought the Rhino looked cool with it's independent suspension. I pictured it at a hunting camp or on a farm. Now, I think it is over priced at $8499.00. Yamaha even made the speedo an extra cost. $8499.00 and Yamaha couldn't throw a speedo on it? The price just goes higher when you add the little extras. It seems kinda like buying an old vehicle with no heater. I'd much rather buy a used Subaru Brat or a Suzuki Samurai and take the rear seat out. Just don't license them for farm or camp use or do license them so you can drive them to town. Those models would be cheaper and have things like speedo, heat or a roof already supplied. The Samurai had a top speed of at least 55mph. 35mph is just too slow. Probably those models aren't much bigger than the Rhino.
I'm sure some people will be happy with a Rhino and I don't want to rain on anyone's parade. I just think it's alot of money for what it isn't. Maybe with time we will have the technology to put things like heaters and a speedo on something like the Rhino at a lower cost to the consumer. One can only hope.

Coyote,
Your correct; if I want a brand new "quad" in the 5 to 6 tousand dollar range; I can buy a nice used car for Grandma at around the same amount of money........the problem is, I don't 'want' to buy Grandma a new car and I don't 'want' to take a several thousand pound 'wanna-be' 4-wheel drive into the mud.

Hey, you could even buy a used Jeep!
How close in price does this thing have to get to a "normal" quad........... if I am picking this thing up at my dealer tomorrow for $7,725 OUT THE DOOR???
Ever priced a 4 wheel drive Ranger or Mule?
I think they priced the thing right and were darn smart to offer the digital guage package as an option (I sure would have)...........don't forget guys: that these corporations are in business to make MONEY and it makes absolutely no sense to leave any more dollars on the table than you have to.
Hope I didn't disrespect your opinion; as I certainly didn't mean to.
