Default RHINO FOR DESERT TERRAIN???

How well do these things perform in the desert? I ride desert almost exclusively...sand washes, steep sand and rock hills, canyons, and lots of whoops and off camber stuff. I think my kids would really like to ride with me in this thing.

Here are some pictures from Presidents Day in Glamis. We take ours to the desert all the time. It could definately use a little more power, especially with the bigger tires, but it goes through pretty much anything. Desert Rhino

At the moment, it has an HMF pipe for performance stuff. I just got my Dynojet kit the other day and haven't had a chance to get it back on the Dyno. Stereo, rollbar and seats for the accessorie stuff and just about finished with the long travel suspension.

Dirtwheels said they make a CDI for it that will make it run 50 mph.

We had a CDI box on it but it went bad. We haven't replaced it yet, to many other things going on. It will run about 46 on hard pack and about 42 in the sand. We are looking at trying to get better acceleration, not necessarily top speed.

Rhino's are quite capable in the desert envirnment for duning etc... however, you need to limit your expectations... Do not think for a minute that you will be capable of blasting up the face of a dune with the same velocity that you can on a Banshee or similar ATV. You are pulling a lot of weight, and in essence, you are riding a two up grizzly, only heavier.. so you be the judge....
