Rhino 450 speed mods
#1
I know you can alter the rhino 660 with a grizzly cdi box to get rid of the built in speed limiter.
Does anyone know if it is possible to do the same thing to a rhino 450. I love the machine but top spped is just at 36-37 mph. Not a problem in the woods, but hit a fast trail i get to eating alot of dust.
I just didnt care for the 660s vibration and noise level when I tested it. 450 has great bottom and lowend but falls a little short on speed.

I contacted Black Rhino Preformance by email, They have been getting high demand and will be developing a cdi unit just for the 450 Rhino. He said check back in 2 months.
I dont know or have heard of any other cdi units made for the 450. If anyone has any leads or manufactures I would be interested in a reply.

All of the various named CDI box's for the 660 are made by one company, only difference is the sticker. That's my understanding anyway...
Stuff a pipe, air-filter & jet kit on it until the CDI box is available they will help some I'm sure.
Also, on the 660 if you replace the primary compound clutch sheave with one from a Grizzly it will go about 8 mph faster. Works on mine anyway. I don't know if the 450 uses the same clutch parts as the 660. Check into that...
