Ranger 4x4 XP
#1
Hi Everyone,
I am new to this forum and also a new Ranger owner. We bought a 2007 Ranger 4x4 700 XP, needless to say we are very impressed with the Ranger's athletic abilities, but very, very discouraged with the mechanical durablility, specifically the drive belts. When our Ranger is running we love it,but so far it seems that every other outing with it causes some problem or another. We have less than 60 hours on it and need to install belt number 4. The warrenty covered the first belt change, we got about 10 hours of use from the second belt and have installed a third belt which has been on less than 9 hours and is already burning. We don't misuse the Ranger, never take it in water over ankle high so what could possibly be causing the problem. This is our first Ranger so we follow the manual when driving it, we let it warm up for at least 5 minutes before taking off,I just don't get it. Our Ranger has alot of extras added to it and when all totaled it cost more than my Saturn car that I bought in 2005, and I am having a difficult time enjoying the Ranger because of the ride a short while, burn belt cycle we have been stuck in. The belt we bought for it cost like 80 something dollars and we thought maybe it was a heavier belt and would preform better but we didn't see any difference. If anyone has any info on the drive belt, please let me know. I just want to have some fun without ending in dissapointment.Thank you.
