True 4 X 4 ??????

nope nope nope..
First there is no rear differential period, it's a solid axle. Only parts inside the case is a ring & pinion gear.
Next when you engage 4wd it also powers the front axle in limited slip (3wd) for easy steering.
The front differential can be locked solid with the push of a button for true 4x4 abilities.

the rhino has 2wd 3wd and when you lock the diff lock true 4wd but its hard to steer when diff lock is on also it has front and rear wheel engine braking the ranger has a turf mode which unlocks the rear axle it has a 2wd mode which locks the rear axle and it has awd wich when the rears slip 1/5 a turn or less the fronts lock in giving true 4wd. and it will stay locked untill you let up on the gas. it can kick in and out several times as your driving and you wont notice it. but when u need it its there. the drawback of a ranger is no engine brake on the front wheels and you have limited engine braking in the rears. thats why the ranger has 4 wheel disk brakes. if you want a work machine buy a ranger if you want a machine to run trails and explore buy a rhino. they are both good units but each has there weak points and strong points.....
