Can anyone tell me if the polaris winch mount will work on the 800 mammoth? Thanks

 

How do you like your Mammoth 800, have you had it long? Does it seem to be build well for the money? Thanks

 

It's not mine, it's my Father's. I would say for the money it's well worth it. He put differant tires on it not long after he purchased it, the ones that come on it are very hard, after he changed them to a standard atv tire it rode alot nicer.

At my work place we have three UTV's, an 01' polaris 500cc 6 wheel drive, an 06' polaris 700xp 4 wheel drive and an 06' Kabota RTV 900. The 500 has been a pretty good machine but noisey and steers hard, the Kabota is a work horse, suppension is not as smooth as the polaris but other than that the comfort is great (power steering awsome!). The 700 polaris has indipendent rear suspension and handles awsome over rough tarain, but we have had all kinds of problems with this machine, it vibrates so bad we can't stand driving it, we lost a belt shortly after we got it and polaris would not stand behind it ( I've seen this with alot of there ATV's that friends own). I have to laugh when I see the advertisement on TV for this machine, if you were to try any of that stuff with ours you will be picking up parts to something. I think the towing compacity is 1500lbs on this machine, I wouldn't feel confident towing even half that, we have a small utility trailer we tow around site to differant projects, we towed this trailer maybe twice using low range with the polaris 700 and shortly after the belt just blew. Polaris accused us of overloading it. I think the towing capacity on the Kabota is 1300lbs and we have overloaded it several times and you don't even know it's there. We had the 700 polaris to the dealer for the vibration and several other problem and they even came to our site to check it out, after not being able to find the vibration problem they just told us "that's the nature of the machine". Also on both the polaris's the parking brake's only worked for a short peroid of time, we would adjust them but after doing so a few times you run out of adjustment, on the 700 you can apply the parking brake fully on a flat surface and push the machine around with your hands. Keep in mind these are used for work purposes and get used hard, we haven't had a chance to use the 700 hard since we just keep having problems with it, we just use it for transportation when we have to.

 

To further answer your question, my Dad has owned the mammoth for about a year know. If I was looking for a UTV, I would for consider one of these machines, expecially considering the price of the others. This machine does not vibrate like the polaris's that I mentioned above.

No I don't. My Dad just built a snow plow for his, he doesn't have a winch on it yet but he is getting a warn XT25 for X-mas. I have the same winch on my atv and so far I love it.
