My brand new Spartan 500 ran well during the test drive. Then I got it home and used it for a few minutes and had to put it away because I had other priorities. Actually my wife's priorities! Anyway I took it out last Friday and really had a try moving snow. See pictures. Once I had worked with it for approximately 15 minutes it died. I was able to start it but as soon as I tried to put it in gear it would die again. I finally called the dealer and he sent his mechanics that afternoon. They bled the carb, adjusted the idle up one notch, and placed the fuel filter parallel to the ground to eliminate the possibility of air getting into the system. After that no more problem. I find that the changing of gears (speed) H,L,N,R is sometimes very difficult. I checked the linkage and it seems a little frail and very loose. I will bring this up with the dealer as I read that some people have actually broken this link and had to weld it to repair it. Anyway so far so good.
