Looking for new UTV...
#1
We have an old Mule about 8-9 years old and we are looking to get something new, but have not sure about the best to buy.
We would probably like a two row (4-6 seater) better than a two seater.
Speed is not an issue... power is more important, but still not the main focus. We mostly just cruise around... general light duty work with the occasional heavy duty requirement.
We definitely want 4WD and a good smooth ride. Comfort is probably the most important of everything. Our 19 year old daughter would say speed is the most important thing, but we ain't buying it for her.
I checked out the Joyner UTV's, but they all appear to be manual transmissions with a clutch, which won't work, no negotiating. The wife and daughter don't do the manual trans thingy... it needs to have forward and reverse, no having to change gears.
Our friends just picked up one of the Ranger 6 seaters and are really praising its ride comfort. They purchased an 09 model for about 12,400 with a windshield and top. The one thing that they have complained about with it is the dust seems to suck right back into the seating area really bad. Not sure if this is merely a windshield thing or the design.
Anyway... would like suggestions and welcome dealers to contact me. I have no problem buying out of state to save a few bucks if the unit can be shipped reasonably and still save some money.
Thanks!

I like the Rangers. Or you can always do like me and add rear seats, unless you want the bed space. I just hook up a trailer if I want to haul something around.

Rangers are a very nice machine, very popular, smooth riding, great 4x4 system and loads of torque to pull most anything provided you've got the traction. As far as the dust issue, that will happen with almost any UTV with a windshield. It's kinda like the effect a pickup truck bed has when you drive down the highway, the wind will stir up all the dust in the box.. The simple soluntion is put a rear windshield on to stop the air flow.. Other than that, your good as gold. You could also consider a Rhino crew as well, just as good, a bit smaller but lots of aftermarket products available, good luck.

I think you've limited yourself to the Ranger Crew or the Mule 4 seater. The Ranger is wider for more elbow room. They say it can fit 6, but probably not 6 my size. 4 very comfortably. I don't know as much about the Mule. I've seen them and they look good and sturdy. But, I don't like having to use up some of the bed space to bring extra passengers along. It's an interesting rig, but I would like to have both the good sized bed and the passenger room at the same time.

There is always the Rzr 4 seater as well.
But back to the Ranger crews, I know a couple people who have them, and absolutely love them!

If your talking extra passengers, Polaris really has this segment cornered and has for some time, the full-size Ranger crew is bullet proof and has the power and size needed for anything within reason.
They also added the mid-size Ranger 500 crew which is a bit smaller and comfortably seats 4 with plenty of power to do most any work you can throw at it.
And then if you really need to put a little weight to your daughters opinion, you can go with the RZR 4...Power, Speed and the best trail manors of the lot, but with less cargo and work capabilities...
The RZR 4 will probably have the biggest selection of accessories also if this is a consideration
No matter which you choose, you really can't make a bad decision here, they are all well thought out and designed with very good manufacturing quality
