Need Buying Advice
#1
Hey guys. I am brand new to the UTV world. I think I have an idea what I want but would like some feedback from those much more experienced than me. I have 4 acres in the mountains of NC. A good portion of this property is steeply graded. When the septic tank lines were put in at the bottom of the grade, a small track hoe was used to create a small road. As the workers were installing the pvc pipe, they used a 4 wheeler (didn't pay attention to the type) to transport pipe and people up and down the hill. I want to be able to travel up and down this road with my wife on like a Kawasaki Mule and create more trails on the property. I also will be using the UTV to move rocks, etc around/off the property and possibly light snow removal.
A few questions.
-My guess is that pretty much any 4x4 UTV will make the climb up and down the hill with my wife and I in the vehicle if the septic tank guys had a UTV that would do it-correct? Again, dont know what percentage grade this is, but I can walk it, just winds me. Do I need to be careful that I get one of the more powerful ones so that we can make the climb?
-I am thinking for what I am after-mainly just doing light work around the property and traveling up and down the hill (we plan on making a picnic area at the bottom of the hill)- and POSSIBLY light snow removal-one of the smaller UTVs like a Kwasaki Mule 600 would work.
-The most I would ever run the thing would probably be like 30 minutes at a time-and that may be a strecth. As such, I am thinking air cooled would work just fine for me-agree? Basically it will be an expensive play toy that will be used farily little but will be irreplacable when I want it.
-I keep mentioning Kawaksaki, but only because that is the first website I went to. I am not sold on this brand. Any suggestions as to what would be the best make and model for my purposes?
-I will probably buy new. Can I expect to pay full MSRP, or can these prices be negotiated like new cars?
Thanks in advance!!

I would buy a honda or kawlaski. I have two john deere diesel gators and have had nothing but trouble with them I thought that since they were made by John
deere, they would be top quality but they arent. The clutchs last about a year. Even the seats are low quality. We keep ours stored inside but the seats last only about a year and a half. If I was to but another, it would probably be a Mule..
