After reading the good reviews from everyone over at PRC was giving MotoAlliance for their Viper winches I figured I couldn't go wrong ordering one for my new Ranger 400.
I ordered the Classic 4000 online Sunday night, (Oct. 17), but thought of a couple questions afterwards so I called them the next morning and Lisa was very helpful in helping me change my order to the Max 3500 instead. Winch came to my doorstep on Tuesday, yes I was very pleasantly surprised and I installed it without a hitch!
Over this last weekend I had need to use the winch to pull an ATV, (Honda,HEHE!), out of a mud hole up an embankment. Here is where the issue came, the Viper pulled like a horse, but as soon as I let off the switch the ATV would role back down the hill, the winch wouldn't hold the load!
This kind of bothered me since I will be using the winch to hoist deer for field dressing, AND, Lisa had told me the Max 3500 had Dynamic and mechanical braking...I called customer Support and talked to Lisa again and she looked up the braking specs in her reference materials and sure enough it was listed as such...turns out they are in the process of changing the Max 3500 over to Dynamic only braking and the website notes this but Lisa's literature hadn't been updated to reflect this change! At this point I was just hoping that there was a fix for the Max 3500 I had, and not expecting much more then this.
Lisa was very apologetic at this point and told me she would do some research and get back to me shortly on just what could be done. Well this is the point where you either get the cold shoulder or all kinds of excuses why it is your fault for the failure, this is what I was expecting to happen, a lot of BlaBlaBla and your on your own!
Very seldom does a company surprise me in a situation like this, but I must say MotoAlliance blew me away! Lisa called back about 15 min. later and told me she had talked to the company president and if it was acceptable to me, they would send me a new Max 4500 winch with dynamic/mechanical braking with his personal apology for the mixup! This caught me so much by surprise it actually took me a couple seconds to stutter a reply!!!
That was 1:00PM yesterday, today when I rolled up my driveway there sat the new winch on my door step, overnight shipping with a prepaid return shipping label for the old winch!! Simply amazing Customer Support! Thanks Lisa and everyone at MotoAlliance!

Yep, they have excellent service over there at Motoalliance, and even though they have had some issues with their winches and contactors, they are constantly working on improving them and take care of their customers who have issues.
