Default Hot Dog Truck Hauler?

Hello All

I'm currently borrowing a UTV to haul my hot dog truck 1 mile to its parking spot. I would like to buy a UTV or ATV or anything that can do the job. Business has been slow and this is a risky purchase. I'd like to keep it around $1700 if possible.

Can anyone recommend a specific make/model, vehicle type, and reseller (central Florida area)?

I was looking into the Kandi 150CC but cant find reviews of these models.

http://www.killermotorsports.com/Kan...d-150gkd-2.htm

Clones, and hybrids work for me. Just looking for the best value.

The kart just has to be utilitarian in nature and haul my 200lb kart along with myself.

Thank you

When you say, "haul", do you mean, "pull", like a trailer? If so most any quad out there can do that. I'd recommend staying away from the ones you've mentioned as they are probably Chinese made clones. Unreliable and a hassle unless you're a really good mechanic. I'd recommend getting a used Honda Recon or 250cc utility quad from one of the major makers like Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, or Polaris.

Welcome to the forums.

What are the current laws in your are regarding off road vehicles on public roads? You may want to look into that, then make a decision on what fits their guidelines.

I seem to recall a few riders from Florida talking about their vehicles being impounded.

Thanks guys.

What is the reliability and maintenance like on clones? I'm extremely handy as well as my neighbors and we can tackle most repair jobs. What types of issues does one encounter?

The hauler will need to move the Kart from its parking spot in a gated community to the designated area where its sold. Its actually .5 miles. No public roads will be used and vehicle is allowed.

I will look into your suggestions. Ideally I would love a vehicle with a hitch and small cargo area. However if a ATV is better for this job and cheaper we may go for it.

What is a good classifieds website that I can use to buy this vehicle?

Craigslist is loaded with stuff around here, might check them first.

Cycle trader is another option, but the online version has gotten to be more of a dealer ad market or scam market.

Just beware, there are scams out on all sights that will leave you with no vehicle and no money.

X2 on Craigslist but I don't think you're going to find a major maker's UTV for $1700. If it were me and I wanted to do what you're talking about I think a lawn tractor might be a better way to go.

Good idea on the lawn tractor. Heck, find a few yards that need cut on the way to and from the vending spot and it'll pay for itself.

Just some random Craigslist results:

Yamaha Raptor 80 - 1250
Yamaha raptor 80

Yamaha Blaster - 1300 OBO
98' Yamaha Blaster 1300obo

2000 Yamaha Blaster- 1000
2000 YAMAHA BLASTER

2004 Yamaha Blaster - 1399
2004 yamaha blaster

2005 Yamaha Blaster - 1500
04 yamaha blaster

2006 Suzuki Ozark 250 - 1500
SUZUKI FOUR WHEELER ------------FIRE SALE------

2007 Kawasaki Bayou 250 - 1500
ATV FOR SALE

2005 Honda Recon 250 - 1500
2005 honda recon 250cc

The added luggage racks or whatever they are called (on the recon) is ideal. I would be able to put a tow hitch on any of these correct? Please advise on models/pricing.

Glad to have found an alternative to the clones.

80 is too small.
Blasters are usually ridden hard. The Ozark, Bayou, and Recon were the 3 I was thinking of. Small machines with semi-automatic transmissions (don't need to pull in a clutch lever but do need to use a foot shift) that have racks that can carry about 100 lbs. and could tow your cart without too much of an issue as long as the cart isn't tongue heavy.
