Wondering does the octane rating of the gasoline used with Kawasaki Mule help or hinder its efficacy, speed and function-wise? Which is better, regular unleaded or high test? Does the amount of ethanol the gasoline contains, help or hinder?

Can anybody help me in what octane gas level I should use with my Kawasaki KAF400 4x4 mule? Trying to get the best performance from this machine. Thanks.
