FAQ Forum?

I've thrown out this idea before, but never got a negative response. Like I said before I'm sure there is a downfall to it but I honestly can't think of one.
It would eliminate the mess that other forums have created by having pages upon pages of stickies/announcements. Could have one convenient forum that has threads with knowledgeable answers, to questions that are commonly asked.
Just make the forum, so that no new threads may be started there... only responses to the ones that have already been approved/moved by a member of the mod team.
It would help alot of people who come in here to look for a quick answer then leave again, instead of sifting through the hundreds of threads, that may or may not have a helpful response within. Hell would even help those of us who are regulars on here. We all have new problems coming up, most of which that have been lived by someone else.
I obviously recognize the fact that if there was an obvious solution to the repeating threads it would have already been instituted, but I've yet to see a major downfall to the idea? any ideas?

Yes, the search feature works very well, the only problem is the fact that you have to sift through 4 pages of useless posts to find the answer, or you can type your question and someone can answer it. Tell me which you think is easier. I think that there shouldn't even be a forum, but an FAQ page filled with basic questions that are repetitively asked, I.E. top speeds of ATV's, starting points for modifiying 2 and 4 stroke motor's, just simple basic things like this. I will say that even if a page like this is created, it still won't stop the threads, but it should decrease the amount of them. Just my $0.02 worth.

Pendejo, start typing. If a page like that existed, maybe we could use it. But since most of that information is arbitrary to begin with, its hard to post a "one size fits all" answer to such questions.

Yes, that's true, but you of all people know that there are so many simple, basic questions or comments made on this board, that with a little bit of research someone could answer themselve's. If there was an FAQ page, I truely believe it would reduce the number threads asking basic questions. Sure, we would still have posts made by people asking basic quesitons, but maybe they will be a little more in depth than "How can I make my 400EX faster" or "How fast is my Blaster". I don't know, I was a member of this forum a couple years ago, and still things remain the same!
As for the "start typing" comment, I'd be willing to write up some things, if the mods would let a page like that on the board. I'd need some idea's, can't do it all on my own, I just ain't got the learnin fer thet thurrr Also, I'd want someone such as yourself to proof read it for me, because the last thing we need on this board is more bad info.

I don't think it would matter if there was another "FAQ" page. One, you couldn't answer all the questions, for all the quads. And 2, we already have a FAQ for rules in the forum and members can't seem to find those.

Yea, the more I thought about it, the more I realized it'd be a waste of time. Also, I had no intention of trying to asnwer every detailed question about every ATV, engine, etc. But rather answer some of the more commonly asked, generalized questions that seem to be asked alot around here. Oh well, I give up.
