Server Upgrade Done
#2
dbeck,
I've noticed a dramatic difference in performance. Congratulations on the upgrade - it certainly worked. I think I remember a time way back when you were bragging about running the Web Site off of a brand new dual P3-500 system, seems kinda funny now, doesn't it? (Since then I built, used and sold off a workstation powered by dual P3-600s!)

Blackhawk,
Thanks. Yeah, we still have that server for some other web hosting but it will be going away in a few weeks.
The server upgrade we just completed was actually the database server where the forum stores all of its data. It's a 1U rackmount server with dual 3.02 ghz Xeon processors and ultra 320 SCSI hard drives. It's fast!
In a couple of weeks the web server where the forums reside will be doubled in horsepower. Hopefully, the forums will run even faster afterwards.
Yeah, amazing how things change, huh?
