Default Cant decide on what atv to buy

hey guys. well here goes my first post...

right now ive got a 2010 brute force 750. but its starting to bore me, so now im looking for a sport quad. i still cant figure out which one to get though.
but heres the only ones id consider and the little things i dont like about them. (would be buying any of them used)

2008-2012 ktm 525 xc (nothing i dont like about it, just cant find a used one)
2009-2012 raptor 700 (never really liked a yamaha)
2008-2009 ltr 450 (no reverse, have had no experience with suzuki)
2008-2012 yfz 450r (no reverse, never liked a yamaha)
2008-2012 ds 450 (no reverse, no experience with a can am)
possibly a 2008-2012 kfx 450r (slowest 450 out there)

so im asking yall what your opinions are on these quads, common problems with them, and what do you think the best one to get would be?

i ride trails 90% of the time. once or twice a year we go ride to a place where its basically all creeks. im 15 years old, 5'10, and 180 lbs. ive been riding since i was 4. had a lot of experience on quads. im just very indecisive and scared ill buy something, ride it 3 times, and realize its junk or i dont like it.

any answers are appreciated. thanks.

Welcome fellow newbie. I had a Raptor that I really loved. When I broke my arm getting swatted off of it I sold all of my toyz and I'm just now getting back into the game. I loved my Raptor and they're scary fast. I could get really good lap times out of it through my woods and trails (better than my Banshee). I also loved the reverse. I'm torn on electric start. I like my trx450r because no matter what happens, I won't have to worry about the starter or battery going out since it's kick start only. On the Raptor you never had to go without the torque you needed. It was always there. It was really easy to ride and you never ran out of power or was in the wrong gear on a hill climb. However, they have problems with the starter assembly since they use a clutch to mate the starter and flywheel. The older 660's had problems with the 2nd gear, but the 700's never had that problem. I think that Raptor is 100 pounds heavier than the 450's. My 450r has plenty of power but you have to keep it in a powerband like a 2 stroke. I love the idea of a ktm predator, but like you said, there aren't any out there. Good luck

I like the LTR 450 out of all those. You can find them from 3,000 -3,500 around here in excellent condition. Many around 3,000-3,300.

That would probably be the next one I get or trade up to if I did get another. I will probably just end up getting a big bore kit on my dvx 400 which is the same quad as a ltz400 / kfx400. I have a mechanic in the family that will do all the labor free as we trade labor.

I like the can am and ktm also, but they are a little more pricy. I saw a ds-450 for $3500 in my area in good condition.
