Default Honda Foreman or Recon

Ive got a 1995 Honda Foreman 400 right now and thinking about selling it for a Recon. I like the Foreman, but its too heavy and slow. Im looking for something with more speed and recreational use. I weigh about 130pounds, would the Recon be a good choice? Or should I just keep the Foreman?

keep the forman and put some mods on it your going to a little tiny 250 from a 400. it will have no power and wont go that much faster.

The two quads are so different in ways. It does amaze me how some of the larger utility machines go about the same speed or slower than the Recon. I guess it really depends on how you're going to use it.
The 400 Foreman is about 150lbs. more than the Recon. The Recon is more agile than a fulltime 4x4 400
Foreman. (I catch some air off of the smallest bumps in a road with my Recon.) The downfalls would be a lower towing rate and lack of 4 wheel drive. I've thought about upgrading to at least a 400. (Probably a sport) But, I'll still keep the Recon.

I'm going to suggest a "424 Select Kit". If you can find one for a 1995. This would allow you to disengage the front wheels. Then if you need a 4x4 you could just re-engage it. The kit would help with maneuverability and maybe the top speed a little. Rocky Mountain has a Warn kit for $268.99 and the part number is #908-4002 but it says for 98-02. Does anyone know why it wouldn't work for a 1995?

It really depends on how and where your going to ride.

Lighter is better in my opinion.

I have a foreman 400 4x4, and im sure it faster than a recon with acceleration, but i dont know about top speed. I would stick with the 400 because it will go better, and have better acceleration, and if you want more speed and dont mind spending a few bucks then buy some taller tires like some 27 inches. It would decrease your acceleration some though.
