Default Help with Carb - jetting

I am looking for some help- I have a Honda CM250 engine (twin motorcycle) that Im using for a project. The carb it has on it, stock, will idle it fine but chokes and belches raw gas when tried to rev.. I had the bright idea to use a new 300EX carb on it- which I know is a good carb. It idled great, but would flood out and blow gas fumes at anything over an idle- it really wouldn't rev up at all.

ANY help with this would be great- I bought some smaller 300ex carb jets, they said it had a 138 stock, I got 3, a 137, a 127 and a 125, in hopes I can lean it out enough to use that carb till I figure the stock 250 carb out.

thanks in advance

See there's no clip on the 250 carb, No adj. screws at all- cept for one on the bottom right before the intake. The 300ex carb I havent messed with yet, just stuck it on to see how it did. I'll try the jets, hopefully it will work after that. Then I can work on my charging system(which doesnt work either ). Thanks man

The stock 300ex carb should have a 122 main jet. You are on the right track in thinking its rich. Try a smaller main then a 122, maybe110 or so. good luck
