Default 300EX Motor Question

Ok i gotta problem with my buds 93 300Ex with a 98 motor in it. I did the motor swap and have done some matinence for him, Well it recently just quit runnin, it wouldnt start for anything, well i took all evenin to work on it for him, it has somehow ran completely out of oil with aparant major leak, im assuming its burning it that bad, well i got all the starter problems it had worked out, and fixed the head breather hose that had blown off, then i tryed to do a compression test on it, i tryed 2 different gauges, i tryed my cheap napa one and my new mac gauge, the mac read 30psi at the MOST,the napa read 0, Well it wouldnt start with the started so i hooked it to my warrior and drug it around and got it to start, It has a rod knock that could kill, but it ran, it acted like it had no power at all, and it had a smoke cloud comming from the crankcase breather tubes that almost made it unridable, it will not start under its own power it will backfire every once in a while is all. I am positive if he rides it anymore it will likely end up completely blowing up, I know it needs at least 90 or so psi to start on its own, my question is how much is he looking at in a rebuild if i tear it down now?

Thanks
Ryan-

Default 300EX Motor Question

If you're doing top end, rod and mains and all gaskets you're probly looking at maybe 400-500 dollars. I charge 500 when i do a complete rebuild thats parts and labor. If it's just a top end then I charge 300 parts and labor.
